Heitkamp in harmony with nature
Nature conservation is important to us. To protect various protected animal species such as peregrine falcons, reptiles and wildcats, appropriate facilities such as nesting boxes and protective fences have to be built, both permanently and temporarily, during the construction phases.
The old motorway bridge on the A61 is home to peregrine falcons and kestrels, among others. A number of measures will be taken to ensure that these birds can continue to nest there. The nesting sites of the peregrine falcon and kestrel will be removed and the access points closed in autumn before the old bridges are demolished, so that breeding is no longer possible. As a replacement, nesting sites will be installed or structurally realised on the new large valley bridges.
